"As president I oversee all of the branches within SGA (especially the executive) as well as serve as a point of contact with the university admin for the undergraduate student body. I also represent students in meetings with the University System of Maryland Student Council (USMSC). I, with the treasurer build and manage the SGA budget and oversee all legislation that is passed within SGA on top of creating my own departments. If I had any words for the students in the FYA Program it would be to draft a vision and do what you can to make it come to reality."

"Serving as the Vice President for Student Organizations is a role that is based on student engagement, program development, and process evaluation. I serve in a number of capacities that require me to be in direct contact with student leaders from across campus such as being a voting member of the Finance Board and Student Organization Committee and leading the Student Organization Support Team (SOST). The SOST is responsible for program development that is fueled by research and outreach that I coordinate. Finally, my role as being a part of the Executive Board is to constantly ask myself: does this work and if not, how can it be fixed? So often our work is siloed, our approaches are ineffective, and UMBC students as a monolith is elevated above the individual. I view my position as working with the other leaders of SGA to better the way we approach and do our work."
"I plan and execute strategies for the entire Communications Department. Additionally, I plan and facilitate the Communications Department meetings. I love working with my passionate team! We laugh together, brainstorm creative ideas, and effectively strategize plans for the undergraduate student body to have access and understand important information."

I work with the Director of Communications to discuss initiatives and expectations from the other members of our team. Additionally, I may need to take on the other responsibilities such as controlling the social media platforms or making edits to graphic design projects. Most of the responsibilities come down to oversight of the work and helping manage the requests that need to be completed. It is important that I can be flexible and make myself available for wherever there is a need for help within our team."
"My role includes management of all SGA social media accounts including Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, and myUMBC. This includes scheduling postings, working with graphic designers to coordinate graphics with postings, and in general just making the SGA social media platforms informative and entertaining to our followers."

My role in SGA exist within the Communication Department where we essentially work as marketers for SGA. Since the move to online, we’ve wanted SGA’s social media presence to increase so during meetings, we emphasize brainstorming posts for the week. As a social media coordinator I do end up scheduling half of these (shared with Ben Clark, the other Coordinator) and we get requests (submitted through a form) from other members of SGA of what they would like us to post. We also try to engage with the UMBC community by liking and sharing many posts and creating Instagram stories of useful information which allows us to be very creative with design.
“As a Coordinator of Graphic Design, I work with the Department of Communications to create the visuals for infographics, announcements, or updates that get posted to the SGA’s social media.”

"As the Coordinator of Videography and Photography, I'd describe my role as being the video editor and a general Communications Department member. Along with editing videos for the SGA, being a team member for the Comms Department involves helping brainstorm new and interesting ways to communicate the SGA's messages to UMBC's students."

We want to make sure that everyone at UMBC feels connected, whether it be current students, our staff, or people who have graduated. One is putting out a monthly newsletter in collaboration with the rest of the Department of Extended Connections. The goal of the newsletter is to keep the student body up to date on all that has happened in SGA through each month from initiatives to events. The other main aspect of my role is to find ways to continuously promote and support the undergraduate community through my own initiatives. One of the ways I plan on doing that is by increasing the diversity of the student voice across campus to reflect the diversity of our campus."
"I would describe my role as the coordinator of alumni relations as a way to bridge the gap between the current student body and the alumni. My goal is to build these connections between these two groups of people to last a lifetime! I am so excited to be working on this goal through SGA!"
