b. Commuters and transportation. Extending the UMBC transit route to areas which have a great population of UMBC commuter students who have poor access to transportation, or to areas in which the MTA line is somewhat unreliable.
2. Student engagement and orgs.
a. Student engagement in campus life. Getting the general student body to be more active in student life activities, as well as being more aware of the various clubs, orgs, etc that UMBC has to offer. Providing students with more insight about campus life.
b. Promoting student orgs collaborations. Getting student orgs to work together on various activities, sharing resources, and hosting joint events. This can lead to them attracting the attention of more student thereby increasing their members, as well as sharing members and gaining insight about the various orgs on campus.
c. Promoting a multicultural week event. The plan is to have this event held outdoors once a year during the spring semester. This event is to showcase the various cultural groups on campus and allow students to learn about the richness of UMBC's diversity. While gaining knowledge abt other cultures and appreciating (as well as showing off) one's culture. During this week, students can dress up in their cultural attires as a way to show off their pride for who they are. There are so many cultural groups on campus but so little are known. This event will help to increase the awareness of these cultures, while drawing in more people. As well as exemplify UMBC's love for diversity, inclusion and belong.
